Isco signed for Real Madrid in 2013 after a superb time at Malaga which saw him lead the club to their first ever UCL qualification as well as a 2012 Golden Boy award for him.
His time at Real Madrid was filled with so many ups and down. He played under several high profile managers such as Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane but was never able to get himself to feature as a regular starter under them.
There are several factors discussed in the video as to why Isco's career at Real Madrid wasn't as fruitful is it was initially meant to be. He was compared to the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi but he never even came close to the level of success that these aforementioned men were able to acquire. So........ What happened to Isco?
This is the Frustrating decline of Isco.

On his best days he had a phenomenal technique. In the 2018 World Cup he was one of the best players in the group stages.

Whenever I play FIFA, I do justice to ISCO by bringing him back to Real Madrid and then changing the formation to 4-3-3 attack and use him as CAM always and switch the CM between Kross and Casemiro. For me ISCO will always be a beast. 🔥

I think the main problem with Isco was always his work rate. In his first two seasons at Real Madrid under Ancelotti, he wasn’t a nailed on starter but when he played either in midfield in a 4-3-3 or as a LM in a 4-4-2 he always seemed happy to go back to defend and pressure opposition forwards. In 2015-16 he was isolated from the squad and in the second half of both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons he played at a world class level at the head of a diamond, however he was never given tons of game time until Bale got injuries around January so his lack of work rate wasn’t looked at as talent wise he was by far the best option available. In his last four seasons at Real, he really didn’t do much apart from a good run of form between January 2020 until the lockdown.

Since joining Sevilla, he has been excellent and his work rate is back up. I think the reality is he was never a “Real Madrid player” and combined with his poor work rates and seemingly lack of interest in football in latter years he stayed for the salary but now a change of scene is allowing him to get back to his best

My favorite player to watch during his madrid days . Fast dribbler and lethal shooter

Barcelona was the perfect club for him but these young fellas when Madrid knocks on the door they can't resist...

Born with the talent of iniesta. 2018 world cup he n iniesta's combination was world class

Madrid wasted him
He should have gone to barca , his playing was well suited there

Marcelo always says, " isco is the most technical player in the madrid squad"

It's not really a fall because he has won everything possible. He was consistent for over 6 years. Dele Ali is the player that has truly fallen because he never taped into his full potential. Isco has played his best matches already.

He should've left Madrid long ago

The problem a lot of the time comes back to Modric and Kroos having a spot in the squad no matter what they still only just had Kroos retire right? And Modric stayed on top of his game fair play to him but Isco and ascensio could’ve been a vital part of Real Madrid together

He was just too slow and not very versatile. A master at his specific skillset, but otherwise not very useful.

Played beautiful football. I see Isco in Arda Guler. I hope the same doesn't happen to him.

I came here to see what awaits the young Arda Güler in the future if he insist on staying at madrid.

Maybe he could rekindle his faltering career under Julen Lopetegui at Wolves? He's still only 30.

Idk my personal opinion is he lacked consistency. We can say its a stacked midfield, but any top club he went to had a stacked midfield. And also disagree with the formation vs Luka. Luka isn’t the fastest, id actually say they play very similarly or Isco is a better dribbler. Where they differ is work rate, goal and passes. I loved Isco, but he just never cut it, and those in with him were performing better.
