Im tired of guys knocking stockon for playing with malone. Stockon still had to get the ball to him when everyone knew the ball was going to malone. If a player is at the top of one the 5 major categories they are top 5 no matter what. Lebron is a top scorer all time because of his longevity as a scorer. Can he score the ball in more ways then kobe, durant, or jordan? No. But you cant deny him being a top 5 bucket getter. Just like stockon is a top 5 passer.

I was born in 83 so I seen a lot of John Stockton in the 90s as a young basketball fan. I was a huge fan of his being a white kid that played point guard on my grade school and high school basketball teams. Im from Chicago so I had to stop rooting for him when it got to those two finals. But man he was a joy to watch and was such a great floor general and always made the right play or pass. Look up what other players of his times have to say about him. It might help get some better perspective of what he brought to the table.

U dont have to be flashy to be great or to produce points and thats what stocktons assist produced stockton is the perfect point guard of all time imo.he made it all simple but perfect.

The only number that matters is assists to turnovers weighted against volume. By that standard he's the goat of assists. He never made bad passes. He always made the right decision whether to pass or shoot or drive. Watched this game 40 years now. Never seen anyone do it better.
