2by is a than 1 by when offroad, mainly on XCO. On My rockhopper I put a sunrace 11x40 8-spd cassette and thanks to the Acera M360 which has a good offset on the chainguide gears it was jus plug n' play.

This would be a great bike for gravel and dirt trails, I wouldn't take this on any mtb trails beyond a green trail

Man! These are not lockouts. This fork has coil springs on both sides and these are the preload levers. Do not turn then to the clicking point or they can get stuck. XCE / XCM works pretty much like RockSox Judy coil spring when new. But its internal sleeves get scratchy pretty quick, causing a lot of firction that degrades its performance, requiring it to be constantly serviced. The good news is that you can do it yourself in less than 2 hrs.
