How good is Pyro Xiao?

Now that I have Cloud Retainer, I figured it was time for me to try out Xiao again for the first time in almost 2 years on my account. But of course the idea of just using him for anemo dmg sounds silly, so let's see how good Vape Xiao is instead.

Btw anemo xiao may have better dps since you can use charge atk and na then plunge instead of just plunge and xiao's ult has a 18 sec duration and bennett has like 9 sec since you also use xianyun while in bennett circle

Here's the thing: you only got off 5-6 plunges in Bennett's burst window. That isn't even the 8 plunges that Xianyun enables. A Xiao burst, even allowing for imperfect play, should get off _at least_ ten.

VV only lasts ten seconds, Bennett only lasts 12, but both of those timers are being eaten by animations and swap time. Getting off all 8 plunges is *hard*.

I feel like a lot of folks also forget Xiao's damage ramps up throughout his burst, so those last few plunges are actually his strongest.

With perfect play, Vape Xiao should be about equal, on average, per plunge, to Burst Xiao. But damage per rotation is higher if he bursts, on a slightly longer rotation. So, unless you're doing more than 2 rotations (or killing in one, in which case, who cares?)...vape isn't actually getting you more damage over time.

i did try a pyro xiao build after this video, although with pretty low investment since i didnt have any good artifacts for pyro marechausee, yet i still hit ~140k damage

bro, try vape xiao but with candace and xiangling, my random diluc was dealing 100k with a bad 50/140 build lol

Anemo Xiao has less damage per screenshot but longer duration. It evens out to about the same as shown with those abyss runs. I would choose based on whether you have C6 Bennett or C6 Faruzan, since most people won’t have both of those available. Or just which team you would rather run!

pyro xiao rotation is this:
Furina EQ
Bennett NORMAL ATTACK, Q and then E (E is 2 units of pyro, it last longer) (adventurer handbook trick if needed for energy)
Xianyun EQ
Xiao 8JHP, EE


anemo xiao rotation is this:
Faruzan EQ (or just Q if you have C6)
Furina EQ
Xianyun EQ
Xiao EE Q 8N1JHP+ whatever plunge combo is good at the moment until burst is off.

If you want to play like this just use hu tao or Diluc - and you can even use Xiao on the other side without xianyun and complete both sides with plunge -the reason i love Xiao is aoe hitting like 5 people at the time and doing 100k to each for around 10 hits which adds to 5mil dmg in a cycle and that without counting the Furina faruzan or the support dmg at all

you think this is better with xinqiu instead of furina as well if you don't have faruzan? I didn't play when either came out, so I'm kinda picking up the pieces of my OG team while trying to avoid puling for nahida xD (idk I really dislike dendro, lol)

My c6 faruzan that i just got this banner will stay level 20 until i get an anemo dps(yep, i don't have one, lost to jean this banner sadly)

Anemo xiao dps is better because all the buffs last longer. By the time you set up enough to swirl pyro bennett's buff is only lasting like 9 seconds. Not to mention the difficulty of the rotation and playing circle impact. Cutting xiao's double skill before burst also starves xianyun for energy resulting in lowwer atk stats because you have to build more er. Anemo is more consistent and easier damge as opposed to vape xiao which is more of a nuke showcase build

Sigh, my 4 star weapon only team with Pyro Xiao deal 220k plunge while my 5 star Jade anemo Xiao dealing only 130k plunge, wtf hoyo

Yes, the damage is higher with pyro and it's fun, but still Anemo has continuity
