She reminds me of my ex. She was going to fly out of town to visit her parents. She got wind of me setting up a fishing trip with the fellas and noticed me being happy around the house. She decides to cancel her trip just out of spite. This is how Kennedy feels. Too many people reacted positively to her retirement so she reneges on her plans just out of spite.

I’ve been following this constant destruction of Star Wars since day one and I’ve never seen a single person make the following point: Disney’s acquisition of the IP, KK’s continued pushing of her politics, it was actually planned and encouraged in that respect. The reason is why? Why destroy the IP, why try to at the very minimal, changed the themes and stories and want to dilute? For me, the answer is quite simple: Star Wars represents a movement that started in 1977, inspiring themes of freedom, perseverance, and a deeply held spiritual belief in the force, the Jedi, and what is right/wrong. This is a threat to Disney, to the modern world that they are trying to program, they cannot have a world where Star Wars is a religion to fans, where there is a clear right/wrong paradigm. So how do you fix a franchise that has clear morals in the rules of the universe? You have to “fix” it because your perception of the world doesn’t believe in moral law, that there is a right/wrong paradigm, because you don’t believe can be held accountable because there is no right/wrong. So Disney purchased Star Wars, baited George to sell by promising anything, then went ahead with destroying it and then we’re delusional enough to believe they could replace the fans of Lucas’ work with their new morally defunct fans and dilute the Star Wars “religion.” Basically, this was a planned destruction and hopeful rebuilding. The only hope is that while the first part of the plan was successful but the second has failed miserably.

She said that George was inspired by the politics of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon, but it was more of the aesthetics and the cereal style of those franchises that he put into Star Wars. Yes, George took some inspiration from the Vietnam War, but more importantly he built the Star Wars characters and themes around Joseph Campbell's groundbreaking ideas about the universality of mythology (e.g. the hero's journey) across all cultures. In The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren says, "let the past die. Kill it, if you have to, " pretty much sums up KK's and Rian Johnson's views on Star Wars. They literally wanted to break the mythology and enter the world of identity politics instead. I consider myself fairly progressive, but I was exposed to academia for a few years and I had to play along with the extremists' views that emanated from the humanities and social "sciences." It is a cult that believes any old ideas (e.g. mythologies) should be discredited because they were created by people in power in order to retain their power.

I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a little boy when in 1977 I watched Star Wars up on the big screen here in Sydney, and that was before Star Wars was known as episode iv, and it was also a seemingly innocent and uncomplicated time, not only for Star Wars but the world in general I suppose.

KK should be honoured that Mr George Lucas gave her the opportunity to take his beloved legacy and build on it respectfully, unfortunately she has personally dismantled and practically destroyed Star Wars and turned it into an incoherent basket case.

It really hurts my heart to see the greatest sci-fi movie franchise be stripped down and destroyed by narcissistic and obnoxious people who are only interested in their own personal gains at the expense of the once great IP.

Yes damn it, I do take this personally and I never thought that in my lifetime I would see this egregious damage inflicted on Star Wars, KK has also allowed outsiders to infiltrate Lucas Film and disregard and disrespect Star Wars lore, and not only have they ruined everything due to their personal misguided zealot beliefs but they've seriously damaged the Star Wars brand and it's reputation.

KK has doubled down and disrespected the fans too, it's just mind boggling, KK and her crownies have not held themselves accountable for their actions and keep blaming others for their mistakes, this is what the taste of power and wealth can create with weak minded fools.

Let's get real now, KK has only enjoyed levels of success because of all the highly talented people she's been working with, Mr Spielberg and Mr Lucas come to mind, clearly she isn't talented or capable enough to succeed on her own unless she's on a leash.

As for her retirement, well it's coming, I believe her contract at Disney / Lucas Film expires in the not too distant future and it will "not" be renewed for obvious reasons, she can claim to not be planning to retire and that's fine because she can do whatever damage she likes outside of Lucas Film once she's moved on.

John and or Dave may well be her successor/s, however I really feel strongly that Star Wars Theory should be brought in at least as an advisor or collaborator because of his genuine love, passion and respect of Star Wars, this way we'd all feel more comfortable that we're finally repairing Star Wars and getting back on track with Mr Lucas' vision.

I've been a hardcore star wars fan since the 90's. I'm transgender as well. I'm saddened to hear SWT speak with such disgust about us, but I understand why. Disney has been putting out really shitty writing almost as long as they've held the brand and every time they released something of low quality their MO has basically been to just dismiss the criticism as fans being homophobic/transphobic/racist etc. when that was not the case. And by doing so again and again they made a lot of people that previously didn't have a problem with someone for being LGBT to instead see us as all a part of this cabal making everything about their hobby worse. The harassment I get now is worse than it was because people that never cared that I was trans before now do, lumping me in as being part of these insufferable hollywood elites that turn everything they touch into garbage. To the bitter end, KK never took any responsibility for the poor product Luscasfilm was putting out. The best thing KK or the rest of disney or Hollywood could have done to help with the problems lgbt people face was to just say nothing about us at all.

Even then, it is not enough that she steps down or leaves entirely. We need everything she has done to Star Wars… effectively ERASED.

Also, I find it funny how people used to call you a Disney shill for theorizing about the many exciting possibilities of what could happen in the next film at the time. You came up with better ideas for the sequel trilogy than what Disney-Lucasfilm could create with hundreds of millions of dollars per film.
