glad to have witnessed his entire career, the fact that his man managed to play until 38 with so many physical problems speaks volumes about his mind over matter attitude, any other player would've probably retired before 30.

As a German I stopped watching Tennis after Steffi Graf and Boris Becker retired, but the competition between the 4 goats, Andy, Roger, Novak and you got me hooked up to tennis again, because all of you are great and inspiring personalities and role models for those who will try to follow in your, or create even bigger, footprints in the future.

In the beginning of his career, people mistook Rafa's intensity and quirkiness for a kind of manic, distant coldness. But that couldn't be further from the truth, and the years showed who he really is. An absolute gentleman, humble, passionate, and incredibly hard working. A true role model, in a time where we desperately need more like him.
I am happy for him, but also sad to see him leave. He had an amazing run.
