FACTORIO 0.18 | Overflow Train Parking Lot - Episode 54

In this short episode with only a few base projects left, I tackle adding in an overflow train parking lot for trains that won't fit in the main stackers; the tricky part is the circuitry.

Very impressive! I'm a new viewer, and I'm so grateful that you've shared so many of your Factorio experiences with us. I'd love to see more details about how the combinators track the input and output of trains. I hate to ask, but maybe a tutorial in creative mode?

I wish they would give us vertical and horizontal striped hazard concrete too. Then you could do diagonals and turns and such instead of just the straightaways.

One minor thing: at 12:46, I see that when the one station arrives at copper, that station gets turned off, then the other gets turned on, but one of the trains leaves the stacker -- presumably because there was a tick where it had no station to go to, and so it's going back to an outpost?? It's probably not a big deal as-is, but if you really wanted to perfect it, you'd probably want to put a delay on disabling the one station, enabling the other one first. Or leave the fake station that's closest just always on unless the stacker is full?? or... something. Still, cool stuff. :)
