Doctor Who: 'The Green Death' - Teaser Trailer

The Doctor and UNIT are called in to investigate a series of mysterious deaths at a disused mine in South Wales, where all the victims were found with their skin glowing green. As the Doctor becomes suspicious of the nearby Global Chemicals factory and its mysterious ‘Boss’, his assistant, Jo, becomes trapped underground – in an abandoned mine infested with deadly giant maggots!

Now the classic series is on i-player I revisited The Green Death. Hadn't seen it for years and I found myself completely absorbed. So much so, I watched it again straight after. The CSO was of its time but the maggots were superbly done. It's become a real favourite.

A brilliant story that still manages to be genuinely horrific and frightening. The green infection effect was disturbing at the time and is still now, but there is also hope, humour and maturity in the story, plus the master stroke of having a computer that likes the music of Wagner :)
Arguably the best story of the pertwee era.

The maggots were pretty realistic looking. Sadly one of them pupated into an insect that looked more like a kite than anything else!
