1. When hand sanding, it’s important to apply steady and even pressure to the surface to ensure its sanded evenly. This is why using a hand sander results in a higher quality job.
2. For surfaces with odd profiles, like crown molding, a traditional hand sander won’t work. They make a hand sanding kit with interchangeable profiles that can work for a variety of unusual surfaces, including around stair balusters, in tight corners, molding, etc.
