My late husband romanicly played this song to me in our painful.but loving courting relationship, we managed to adventualy break out ties in other relationships and runaway and marry, unfortunately my husband died unexpectedly at just 47, we courted in the mid 1970's until early 1980's, we were so much in love, and now I hear beautiful ladles voice, I find tears falling...Broken heart, thank you Lucille Starr...❤

J'adorais cette chanson quand j'étais jeune et je l'aime encore aujourd'hui 50 ans plus tard. Lovely song. I'm glad I found Lucille on YouTube. She had many lovely songs.

I am retired and live in Arizona. We have a number of Canadian snow birds that live close to us. We were invited to a small party at one of their houses and I heard this wonderful voice, and I mean wonderful, singing "Pick me up on your way Down" I am going to research her music and hope I can find more on YouTube. She is GREAT, right up there with Patsy Cline.

Just searched for this song after 60 years. Mom and Dad had the 45 and we kids played it until wearing it out.

This is the first song I learned on the guitar. I came across an autographed photo of Ms Starr in an antique shop today, and of course I had to have it. Beautiful song, beautiful voice and beautiful lady

Sorry to hear of her passing. She was such a talented singer. She and Bob were my next door neighbors in Panorama City, CA in the early 1960s. They were such nice people (although little Bobby was kind of a butthead). I remember Bob didn’t like The Beatles and when their movie, A Hard Day’s Night” was about to be released, he wanted to get us kids to picket it with signs that said “Stamp out The Beatles”.

I’ve always thought Lucille was a wonderful singer. This song in particular has always stayed with me. One of the positive aspects of the internet is being able to find these old songs.
