Well that’s one hospital everyone should AVOID.

Theres a level of incompetence that is difficult to comprehend here. She was in the best place to receive immediate help, but did not.
It boggles the mind to understand how you van essentially die among medical 'professionals'.
Heartbreaking and sickening.😢

"Our hearts go out to her, but not workers comp"

as a Certified CPR instructor, you dont need a lisence to do CPR, anyone who says " i cant provide IMMEDIATE assistance to someone in need BECAUSE i am dont have a cpr card " should be liable. 7 minutes, that is CRAZY, each minutes without CPR = 10% less chance per minutes to be ressussited. The co-worker should be charged, they are the reason she is quad. Note: in any health care environment they normaly required their employed to be train for cpr, shame on you city of hope, i bet you that physician did not wanted to get on his knee and pump.

Wait! An employee in a cancer center didn't have CPR training? I worked at a tacky child day care center and had to have CPR & First Aid within the 1st 30 days of employment and recertified annually. How do you not have it? Absolutely disgusting culpable behavior. If the facility won't pay up, sue the staff members that were there in civil court. I'm floored they didn't respond in such a crisis.

This is reprehensible! The boss doesn’t try to save her and then has to nerve to refuse workers comps. City of Hope is EVIL!

She is not "moaning" in that video. That sound she is making is called "agonal breathing" and it's a sign that a person is actively dying. It means that their brain is not receiving enough oxygen (in this case because her heart wasn't beating) and it's starting to shut down and lose function.

I'm a *NURSING SCHOOL STUDENT*, and I know this!! The fact that licensed, working doctors and nurses don't know agonal breathing when they see it is absolutely appalling.

You know what else I'm required to have even as a nursing student? An active CPR certification. I even know students who were pulled in to do compressions during a code while they were doing clinicals. So these doctors and nurses have zero excuses for this situation, and every last one of them should lose their licenses because clearly they do not know what they are doing and they are liable to kill or maim someone else in the future!!

A "doctor" says he's not qualified to give CPR???
This doesn't surprise me. I was just in the ER Monday with blood pressure of 198/89, shortness of breath, heart palpitations and less than 4 hrs later, they were wheeling me out to the parking lot to drive myself home... Diagnosed with dehydration and denied fluids... they didnt even give me an IV...

What a horrible profession that refuses to save their own! Where is the humility, integrity and compassion and empathy for those who put their lives at risk! Something is not right!! This is absolutely insane!!! I’m so confused and disgusted by these medical professionals!! I hope they get sued to the fullest

This is one of those situations where an excellent lawyer is needed. I’d assume there is also a professional standards department for nurses and doctors that could investigate…

This breaks my heart.💔 I'm so sorry this happened to this nurse. It's unfortunate that nurses could not help a fellow nurse; instead they record the emergency. RN here.

Everyone in that room with her should be charged with attempted manslaughter, among the list of things they need to be jailed for ..

Former CNA here. I KNOW all medical staff that works bedside is trained to do CPR. The MOMENT the BP is gone and the heart rate is gone you engage in CPR. I have myself started CPR WITHOUT a nurse involved due to the signs of cardiac arrest saving the patient. This makes my heart so sad to see a staff of nurses not save not only a patient but a co-worker!

Why did that stupid woman thought recording was more important than saving a life? People literally need to gtfo of social media and stop living life as if it's a simulation.

What a complete disgrace to all employees standing by doing nothing, and the company itself. Every one of those nurses need to have their licenses revoked. Failure for duty to act.

This is so shocking since they had the equipment nearby but didn't bother.

It’s been almost a year since I lost my mom to cardiac arrest and this was extremely hard to watch and everyone who stood there witnessing and recording SHOULD BE CHARGED! Why did they even go to work and failed their own team member!!!

I knew that was agonal breathing by the sound. I also know how to perform CPR.
I work in finance.
These people are pathetic .
God bless this poor woman.

As a Former CNA this makes me sick. Even though I don't work as a cna I still keep my cpr certification active.
