Why 99.9% of People Fail To Keep Making GAINS!

Alright, today we're going over why most people fail to keep making gains and consistently build muscle.

Now, most people will right away point to diet, training, and everything in between but those are just the symptoms and not the actual cause. To me, it comes down to 3 things, the first being uncertainty which can come in the form of whether your training is right for you, if your diet is working or if you're doomed with bad genetics. The second is patience which is definitely one of the most difficult to grasp because you're constantly pushing so hard to get results and progress can only be measured over long periods of time. Finally, your ability to delay gratification, and I think this gets most people because if you've ever found yourself eating pizza at 2am instead of what is actually on your diet then you've failed at this... Don't worry most people do but if you can master playing the long game then you'll never stomp making GAINS!

I’ve been lifting consistently since 1989, apart from 2 injury recoveries involving re attaching tendons.
One thing Ryan missed is you have to learn to love the training more than the goal. If you can truly love the feelings of pain and exhaustion in a workout, if you can get as much pleasure from the feeling just after a workout as you do from eating a case of Twinkies, then you repeat what you crave, and consistency becomes easy, because who ever woke up and said ‘no more Twinkies, I had Twinkies yesterday’? Nobody, that’s who.
Once that addiction is established, improvement becomes an inevitable symptom.

Imagine if most educators/teachers were this entertaining and honest; graduation rates would be through the roof.
Thank you and respect to Mr. Ryan for this informational and truthful video.
Keep winning!

"At the end of the day, no one's coming for ya."

Good hell, that hit like a ton of bricks. So true.

I’m 56 and just hit a 225x4 for 2 sets again now that the gyms are back. Real reps, right down to the nipple and back. Ryan has been a big reason. I’ve learned so much. I love this guy. Oh and his humour keeps it interesting! I used to work out to look good for the ladies. Nowadays I work out to stay out of the coffin longer. Figure out your goal/vision and stay focused.

The long game... Three years so far. I went from 300 lbs and a 54 inch waist to 226 and a 34 inch waist. I am still learning. Consistency and commitment to your goals and to yourself is the key to success. I am doing the 30 day program by Ryan because I had gotten complacent in my workouts. Finish week three this week and it has been the best three weeks of exercise, since I first started. Just the free stuff Ryan shared on YouTube helps a ton, but it is the best $20.00 you will ever spend on your fitness, if you are stuck or have just gotten to be a lazy POS. 💪

“No one‘s coming for you.” Some reason that struck me as a powerful statement which can be empowering or let you off the hook.

Honestly since starting the program hearing Ryan’s voice in my head calling me out most days I want to slip on my work has been a huge motivator.

Ryan’s philosophy has helped me in the past few months : high rep, go hard until I feel sick! It works.

Ryan, this is the best video/advice you have put out in your series in my opinion. Especially the part on being patient.
This one hit a HOME run…
Keep up the good work!

Ya know, Ryan, generally I agree w/your points but... there's no fighting genetics. Some folks simply cannot win that battle. I've suffered w/NGP (no genetic potential) my entire life, not an athletic bone in my body. The only thing I could do was lift and even tho I've been training religiously since I was 15 (and I'm 61 now), I never attained a tremendous physique, never was super strong no matter how hard I worked at it. Yeah, I made respectable gains but NGP has always held me back. Perhaps what I've achieved is my full potential. I'll still argue there is no fighting your genetics. Keep up the solid content.

Ryan, I really appreciate all you do for this community. I am have completed the Full Gym program (2x), and followed your recommendations for eating (I hate the word "diet"). I have seen gains and working from being the "chubby mess" to becoming a freakn' beast. Thanks for pointing the way!!!
