I started watching her when I was 17. I started my first solo trip at 17. I was nervous as a ( young solo female traveller) she gave me the confidence I needed, I've been traveling now for 3 years. I wouldn't have it any other way. I appreciate it so much!

One hack I've learned is to have a small keyring light in every bag just hanging on the zipper. Toiletry bag especially is something you might want to go through without putting on lights or if there just isn't any light

Toothpaste hack: Ask you dentist for travel-sized toothpastes. We get SO MANY for free from different brands. Whenever my sister or her friends go on travels, I force them to take some just to free up space.

One product I absolutely love is Bath&body Works No rinse body wash. It's technically meant for use like after going to the gym where you can't shower but it is AMAZING when traveling. On layovers or after flights I can just pop into the bathroom, spray a little on my hand and pat all the icky places (like armpits or feet) in that need it. No more feeling sweaty gross or sticky. 10/10 would recommend. The only downside is that it is part of their active collection which means I only find it during summer usually. I tend to stock up on it though because it's great to have anytime of the year.

I remembered you had a similar tip about the toiletry bag that had a hook on it a few years ago. I followed your advice and it helped me a lot in my travels since!

Tide-to-go pen, hydrocortisone cream (in case of any rashes, eczema etc.), after-bite stick, tweezers, hand sanitizer, dental floss, aloe Vera after sun gel! That should do the trick along with some of the things you mentioned (I just do very limited hair products in comparison)👍🏽

One thing i have to pack is contact lens cleaner and case to store them when i take them out at night. But I always include an extra set of contact lenses, just in case something happens to the ones in my eyes. swimming/snorkeling, just popping out from dry eye, a contact tearing, ect, ive learned to pack a spare.

I always pack a laundry stain stick because inevitably I will spill food on me.

I pack primarily an oil blend (coconut, jojoba, etc) in a little glass bottle with dropper. Good for detangling and moisturizing curly hair, conditioner, makeup remover, face and body moisturizer, toothpaste substitute in conjunction with essential oils. Little vials of essentials oils like lavender, clove, peppermint et cetera can be helpful for rashes (poison oak), disinfecting, cold prevention/recovery, headaches, stomaches, toothaches, mood lifter, de-odorizer (help endure smelly public places) besides general personal care. A small thing of hydrogen peroxide (disinfects) and cayenne (coagulates blood quickly) for little too. Then an all-natural, all-purpose soap like dr. bronners for body wash and shampoo or washing undergarments; sunscreen, deodorant, makeup, pre/probiotics to boost your immune system is helpful too.

I include first aid items: hydrocortisone and an antibiotic.

I have the same exact shampoo and conditioner containers and I love them. They work really good because when you wet it they stick against the shower.

Have you ever considered using the lush solid shampoo and conditioner bars? I swear by them for travelling as I found they last longer than the full size liquid bottles and they are always natural, cruelty free and vegan friendly 😊

I used dry shampoo on my most recent trip and it was life changing. My hair gets greasy pretty easily and I have long hair with no easy access to hair dryers. So being able to spruce up my hair and not wash all of it with the required time to air dry was super helpful. I use less conditioner than shampoo and I have different size bottles (recycled from old hotel bottles) for different lengths of trips. Unlike you I am very specific in my shampoo choice. It's not a fancy brand - but sadly one that was discontinued in the US - sigh, so anytime I'm in the UK I stuff my checked luggage on the trip home.

I really need to buy a toiletry bag with a hook! I hate liquids so I always use shampoo/conditioner bars and whatever other toiletries I can find that aren't liquid. The hair products were very useful! Especially the volume powder. And the wrinkle spray! I need to get that! I can't wait to see the Africa vlogs!! The instagram pictures look AMAZING!

I only take:

Shampoo/gel bar
Small conditioner bar (sometimes I don't even bring it with me)
Comb/brush
Deodorant cream (small glass container)
Toothbrush
Toothpaste tabs (small glas container)
Floss
Menstrual cup, period underwear

Anything else is not essential anymore, at least for me. I am so glad I do not need more than those basics.

If I end up needing anything, I will just get it there.

What I do need if showering in hostels or similar is having something to disinfect the shower with, but that I can buy wherever I go.
