I was originally shopping for a V2 but it wasnt at my LHS or online at the moment. But my LHS had the V1 with the Widemaxx kit for only $450. I had to get it. I also got the LEDs, the CVDs, and more. I might convert it to a V2 later. But for now Im experimenting with different diff fluids to get the handling I want.

You keep saying wider footprint and longer chassis?
The width is the same correct, just a longer shoe size right?
Imo the shorter maxx (v1) looks more like a sport monster truck. The v2 kinda looks like a long bed Chevy instead of a true to scale monster truck.

Next comparison...E-Revo or X-Maxx?? I have been looking hard at the X-Maxx, I love the monster truck look and driving characteristics, but it may just be a little too big (both to run and to store), and it's quite a bit more $ than the E-Revo..

I have heard that the v1 is more fun bc its Harder to drive and it does flips and wheeles better then the v2. And it looks more like a monster truck then the v2

You forgot to mention here they have different gear the v1 has 24 and the v2 has 23 pinion gear.

You're absolutely right, TRAXXAS made it right with the MAXX V2. They made us pay for an upgrade that was a fix, not an upgrade. And for that I'm still ticked at them. Almost $250 for the fix, that's just wrong!!!

People aren’t noticing that the v2 is geared down if you put the maxx gearing in it runs the same speed.
