My 50 year old son who is quadriplegic had surgery. He went in for a urostomy. There was a leak that couldn’t be detected by ultrasound. So he has a fistula and waiting for intestines to heal. He started TPN week or 2 after his surgery on September 7, 2021. Around November 15 th his blood work showed he had gotten diabetes. Still on nothing by mouth except water with pills.Today is 25th but Doctors haven’t gotten insulin dose correct yet. Hopefully in a day or to they will. We are hoping when TPN is over and back to normal diet it will go away.
