I thank GOD, that I was born in the late 60's, which allowed me to grow up in the 70's and early 80's, in a time when music was life. To see James Brown, in his prime, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Mavis Staples, The Emotions, The Jackson Five, Parliament Funkadelic, The Ohio Players, The Isley Brothers, Patti LaBelle, Sly Stone, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The O'Jays, The Brothers Johnson, Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Prince and Whitney Houston just to name few. But The GAP Band, featuring Mr. Charlie Wilson is a family wide favorite, too many memories of The GAP Band's music playing at family get togethers and parties. As it is known in the South among Black People, no barbecue is complete without the GAP Band's music. Thank you for this great post.
