Night shots look better on the S23 in terms of colour but for day shots I actually preferred the S22, including zoom and portraits. The S23 completely missed blurring the background at 7:39 At 6:33, that lamp looks more natural on the S22 and the scooter's back wheel looks better too, on the S22

I see a really big improvement, no more massive oversharpening in videos. This is a huge improvement for me. The 8k looks so choppy and oversharpened on the Galaxy S22 but on the Galaxy s23 it looks amazing. Thank you for doing these tests

Are you sure the right side is S22? I swear the footage on the right is superior from start to the end of the video, with the only exception being wide camera at night. Crazy.

Daytime pics and overall videos S23 is definitely better. Shadow details and sharpness are better. Nightime pics there is a wierd hue to all S23 pics that I didn't like. Hoping samsung fix that eventually. S22 had 1 yr time to get camera updates so S23 being better in most areas from get go is good sign.

Honestly, I can see a big improvement! The shadow highlights video stabilisation and that 8k 30 fps is usable now in a 1-year gap that's a huge accomplishment great phone

Indeed, the portrait mode of the S23 is less good than that of the S22, both in terms of details and colors.

Similarly, photos in night mode with the main sensor are more detailed on the S22.

In selfie photo-video too, the details are better on the S23 but the colors are not good.

On the other hand, in rear video, the S23 is really better, in terms of detail but above all stabilization and fluidity, it seems that Samsung has increased its bit-rate in video and that's really great.

I think the color and detail issues can and will be fixed with updates.

Can you compare low light pictures without the night mode enabled? people are not often willing to stay still for 5 seconds to take a picture. Especially night shots when you are in bars or nightclubs or social situations, nightmode is not very useful then.

IMO i see big difference, s23 has much better video (has more colors not oversharpening and first time iphone like stabilization). In night mode i see too big difference. very good comparison video, thank you !

I've been happy with my S22, and by the picture-comparisons you provided, (pictures are most important to me) to the S23, I would not "upgrade". That said, the S23 is supposed to have a brighter screen, and it's on sunny days, where the S22 screen is difficult to see, so that would be a nice improvement.
I've seen reviews of the S23U where the color science change appears to be more dramatic compared to the S22U (I would say improvement), so I'm leaning towards the S23U, and I would really make use of the zoom. That said, if the P7P had a better quality build and fixed the selfie camera, I would go with it.

Samsung is gonna reduce the camera quality on the s22 so that the s23 is gonna look better. They have been caught doing that. Same like iphone. Everytime there's a new iphone they will reduce the previous iphone's capabilities.

Improvements are getting minimal, while prices go up maximum. My S20 FE 5G has got it all, 120hz display, Snapdragon, great camera's and MicroSD. What more do I need🤷‍♂️

The biggest difference is on 8k video where S23 is 100x better - no oversharpening, much more details, much better look. The wide camera has better geometry now - straight lines are not so curved. It's looking better now. The nighttime pictures also show much more little details in the leaves on the trees and the grass where S22 is oversharpening and looking more artificial. The portrait mode is much worse on S23 unfortunately - I hope it will be fixed in the update. But I wish they won't re-introduce the crazy oversharpening on the nighttime pictures and 8k video because it's looking great and natural in this version of the software. The rest of the situations are equal on both phones - almost no real difference.

I have the S22 and by this comparison I am not upgrading to the S23 based of the camera alone. Maybe for the processor it has, cause my S22 has an Exynos and I believe a Snapdragon Gen2 will have some improvements in terms of battery life. I don't care about the rest. Unless they also improved the speakers in the base S23 model, which I doupt.

And also, at 8:00 and some other shots in the portrait mode, the S23 failed to focus with the telephoto well enough because, as you can see, even her hand, hair and everything is blury. I'm 90% certain they will fix this focus problem with an update. It is not a image processing mistake, just a focus thing.

I just don't want to shame the S23 for minor things like that, whose will be fixed soon.

The image in the video is better and sharper at s22. This applies to the main camera and front camera. But the photo on the selfie camera is better with s23, on the main camera you can say that too

You used S23 and S22 both at the same, how was the heating of both the phones ?? Does S23 also heats up.
