In this Diwali series, I'm testing different Diwali snacks, foods & sweets to see which ones spike my blood sugar levels a little too much, so I know what to avoid. Am sharing my experiences.

Please do note: I'm not a diabetic, or even a pre-diabetic. And I hope to stay that way. These are my glucose monitor readings, and everyone's readings can be different. I'm not a medical professional.

I observe fruits increase spike temporarily, but gradualy helps liver and eventual pancreas functioning, so in long course decreases sugar levels

1. Watermelon:

Watermelon is primarily composed of water (about 90%) and has natural sugars. It contains around 6-7 grams of sugar per 100 grams, mostly in the form of fructose, which is a natural fruit sugar. It's relatively low in sugar compared to many other fruits.



2. Apple:

Apples have more sugar than watermelon, containing about 10-14 grams of sugar per 100 grams. The sugar in apples is a mix of fructose, glucose, and sucrose, which are also naturally occurring sugars. Apples are considered moderately sweet among fruits.



3. Gulab Jamun:

Gulab jamun is a traditional Indian sweet made from milk solids (khoya) and soaked in sugar syrup. It contains a very high amount of added sugar. A typical serving of gulab jamun (1 piece, about 50 grams) can have around 15-20 grams of sugar or more, depending on how much syrup it absorbs. This sugar is primarily sucrose (table sugar), making it much sweeter and higher in calories than fruits like watermelon or apple.




In summary, watermelon and apples have natural sugars and are generally lower in total sugar compared to gulab jamun, which is loaded with added sugar.

Eat same amount of jaggery powder and sugar of same brand (parry's) and check the sugar hike difference....

Fructose and matured suger😅 hav base difference of fiber nd easily digested whn eat food with no guilt but peaceful nd happy, it effect differently., .. WORTH TRY IT
