Power Intro to Kontakt 5

John, you are the dude. This is Gregory Brown. 1st learned of you when I stumbled upon your live stream talking about Unify about 4 or 5 days before Unify was released. (I now own a copy) I am primarily a jazz pianist. Long story short. I was unaware of what Kontakt is. I want to begin to produce/record realistic sounding music with me playing all the parts from small combo's to orchestras. My knowledge of sampling is zero. I was only made aware of kontakt recently. I tried to go online and figure out what it is and what it does. Everyone sort of explained it as though you already sort of knew what it was. Very frustrating. then I thought let me go to my man Plugin Guru. Within 10 seconds of this video you explained EXACTLY what it is and I understood. Thanks again man. You're the dude!!

I don't understand why anyone would begrudge him a sales pitch: he's got to make a living. It would be annoying if the content was lame but forget the comment below: this has taught me more about Kontakt 5 in a few minutes than I learned in a month. I have learned to create new instruments, tempo sync a whole library and shift a whole instrument to another library's interface. No idea I could do so much so easily. Brilliant.

Hello! The "purge" is a lot more than clear everything. Let's say you have a drum sample going, Studio Drummer for example. You record your midi drum track using the snare, bass drum, and hi hat. Hit "purge" and the un-used samples are dumped leaving you with less samples loaded. This really saves resources! Great Video!!

Great tutorial, clear straight forward presentation, very easy to follow along. It would be awesome if I was able to use Logic's EXS24 library within Kontakt as I'd be able to use them in ableton.

Like 1976spd said LFO's can be synced to your host Daw or external clock by clicking on Hz in the frequency readout....
