I bought this guitar the year that this video came out. I was in my early 20s. I ate Ramen noodles for every meal for the next eight months to afford it, and that’s no exaggeration. The guitar is aptly named Soupy Sales, and I play it to this day.

To me it’s about the playability on the guitar. I haven’t found a guitar that I enjoy playing more than Taylor’s. Martin is close, but still doesn’t compare. If you find a guitar that you don’t want to put down because you love playing it that much.. that’s the guitar. Who cares about saving more money if it doesn’t give you the same feel.

I just got this guitar and I'm amazed by it. I only traded in 4 other guitars to get it...lol. By far, the best guitar I've ever owned. The pickup system in this is stellar. I did a side by side comparison with my other acoustic through a recording and it's like night and day. It's got a more natural tone to it. I won't own another acoustic...

Sound is in the ear of the beholder. I was fortunate enough to visit a GC an demo a model from the 100 series up to the 800 series. I kept coming back to the ce214 deluxe. Not quite as warm as the higher series, but had more punch and spunk. Also the 300 up series have a slightly wider nut. My favorite sounding/playing of that day....the CE214 Deluxe. Doesn't have all the eye candy, but delivers the goods.

I just bought 214ce deluxe after debating between this deluxe version and the original 214ce. Although it's $200 more than the original, it has a slightly warmer tone (due to higher quality woods) and a significantly better pickup (Expression System vs ES-T). Plus, unlike the original, the deluxe comes with a hardshell case which alone is $200. IMO the deluxe version is an amazing guitar and a slightly better value than the original version although I preferred the looks of the satin finish on the back and side of the original.

First thing that popped into my head at 0:00 was a country accent saying:

"...So come on down to Country Jim's, we've got the best steaks in town. We'll save a table for ya."

And the one thing they miss we all want to know. THE NECK. I found that the 214ce neck was a little wide compared to the thinner neck. I loved the sound of the 214ce and want to play the deluxe to see the sound quality of all Rosewood. But, the neck hurt my left hand muscles a little and I never got that from the cheep Alverez I have becuase the neck is thinner. I think the 100 series has a thinner neck but I want the Rosewood. Any comments out there>

Should have plugged in the guitar if you wanted to compliment the electronics.

Satin necks rule!!! I suffered with a gloss neck for 20 years not knowing that I was. Never again.
