As a Malaysian, I would like to recommend Nasi Lemak for anyone who has never tried Malaysian dishes. Roti is also good for curing depression like she said.

I also love Roti bomb and Roti tissue! (Roti bomb is sweet and roti tissue is larger and crunchier. Roti canai is just plain) Roti Canai is really good dipped in curry too

Other popular food I like: Assam Laksa, Rendang, Mee goreng mamak

Edit: yes, Roti Canai it’s originally from India. Malaysian foods are mostly inspired by the Chinese, Indians, the Middle East and Indonesians. The main languages spoken there are Chinese, Cantonese, English in a Malaysian way and Tamil (excluding dialects ofc).

We (me and my family) visited Malaysia🇲🇾 in September 2022.
My favourite dish there was supposed to be Nasi Lemak (we had it almost every day)
But my favourite dish was observing the ppl there...
