Predicting The NHL FOUR NATIONS FACEOFF Rosters

This year was packed with insane NHL Highlights, but there was one thing missing from this perfect year of hockey, and thats international competition. International NHL Hockey is amazing and finally its back for the upcoming season with the announcement of the NHL Four Nations Faceoff, a tournament where 4 teams, Team Canada, Team USA, Team Finland, and Team Sweden will all compete in a winner takes all tournament. crosby, stamkos and mcdavid all being on the same team would be interesting to see no question! And those 3 along with either mackinnon or bedard with makar on the powerplay would be one of the most lethal power plays in history

A few things I don't see happening in this tournament.

1. USA playing to their potential. Let's face it, that rarely happens.
2. Sweden scoring enough goals to win it all. But they won't let in many either for sure.
3. Canada being able to keep it out of their net. But damn that forward group.
4. Finland backing down a single inch depth be damned. As a Swede I say this. Never count out the finns, they will now and win the whole thing if you do.

My guess is:

Canada wins. If the team can't make it happen the refs can, as always.
Finland second as they only lose to Sweden.
Sweden third and only win against Finland.
USA last, close games but no wins.

My other prediction is that they won't play another tournament like this for a decade because of the results.

Really good analysis/video . Probably the closest line up to my own for team Canada . I would potentially add Carter Verhagee and/or Alexis Lafrenière if they have a good 24/25 season.

Team Sweden best asset is not goaltending but rather defence imo . With weakness in forwards ( Flip Forsberg, Jesper Bratt, E Lindholm being on their top 2 lines)

Findland is the opposite of Sweden . Strong top forward lines however weak bottom defensive lines ( Juuso Valimaki, H.Jokiharju, Urho Vaakanairn) <—anyone know these 😂

Team USA is definitely the team to beat with their outstanding depth in every position . However, I don’t see a player on their team that is comparable in overall talent to Conor Mcdavid, Nathan McKinnon, Cale Makar. This means Special teams (poweplay), Canada should have the advantage.

think it can be good to have teammates Aho-Teravainen, Rantanen-Lehkonen, Heiskanen-Lindell, Lundell-Loustarinen and maybe the golies Saros-Lankinen because it's a short tournament so you have to be able to adapt well together. I think Armia, Mikkola and Annunen should get a place in the squad and why not Pulhjärvi I think this as a Finn!

For the defence men Swap the 3rd line with the potential reserves

If your going with Tkachuks on the first i would put Hughes with them, they are friends and grew up together. and even practice together in the offseason, they probably have chemistry already.

I feel like we all know why this is happening without Russia, but under better circumstances we should have Russia be one and the fourth "country" would be all of EU

Binnington is NOT better than Jarry, Thompson, Skinner, Adin Hill, Cam Talbot OR Marc Andre Fleury.
I thought he was before I looked at his stats and Binnington fell off. He's not the same consistent goalie anymore.

How is the guy that nearly scored 70 goals below a guy on the line up that has never more than 82 points in a season???? Like I get maybe you don’t want Matthew’s with the tkachuks but he is the best player on the team. He gets line one with like Keller and literally whoever. Jack Eichel is heavily overrated and I’m a fan of him. Hughes should also get to play over him. I could also see Hughes being on that top line instead once we see what happens this year but Eichel is great but not better than at least half the forward group for the USA
