1989 Nissan Skyline GTS-T // Gears and Gasoline

This week Driver Motorsports gave us a shot at their 1989 Nissan Skyline GTS-T. Everyone loves the GTR, but for those who've ever wished it was RWD or came with four-doors, the GTS is the way to go.

This GTS-T is an absolutely amazing car just to drive, and the Gears and Gasoline Evo was almost sold to make room for it. Stay tuned as we check out more of Driver Motorsport's JDM goodness.

Its sad that the gts t is underrated. It may not be fast as a Gtr version but its still a skyline and intresting car too.

Reading the comments, others have said a bit more technical info already, so I won't harp on that.

What I will say, is how very much America has missed out on the truly great JDM cars, for example, this Skyline GTS-T is actually pretty common where I'm from, I see one or two quite often, sometimes daily. My favorite old Nissan that was basically the same as the skyline, just different body panels, The A31 Cefiro (Altima), can be had AWD or RWD with either the RB20det or my favorite, the RB25det, and for vastly less than a skyline.

The TTD conversion is avg 6 TTD to 1 USD. The average price of an R32 GTS, much like this one, 100-120k, an A31 can be had here, with an RB25 for around 30k.

I sorta hate how popular the Skyline is, because I really love it and really want one, but I can't ever see myself throwing money away like that, even if I have it to throw away.

you can get awd with the rb20det in the gts 4 models which came in sedan and coupe.

A stockish RB20 sounds so much better than a stock RB26 in my opinion. RB26s with the twins just sound so closed off. Once they get a big single though.. best sounding engine out there.

I see the potential in the GTS-t, best swap potential, swap the rb26dett and you have a car thats faster then the GTR, because your having to put power to only the rear wheels and not all wheels, if anything your will be able to make some good money selling your jdm rb20det on craigslist and be able to put that money towards a rb26dett, plus you have both options of having a sick drift car or a fast as shit skyline. But to be honest I'm saving my money up waiting for the Celica GT-FOUR ST-205 to turn 25 years old so i can buy it right away, personally it think it's better than a skyline because all replacment parts on a skyline are import only still, the S205 has the same motor as the MR 2 Turbo so parts are here domestically, even if i blow the motor it's not costing me a fortune to replace.
