Amazing how most comments are critical and negative. This is a cool concept. Like with every new technology, there are going to be multiple concepts and design iterations until the tech matures in common use and conventions.

This guy seems like a real good fit for a mobile node. Just throw the whole thing in a phone holder. I’d keep it plugged into power all the time and run a wire out to a mag mount on the roof.

I dont know much about meshtastic, I literally just found out about it today! it really intrigues me. But one thing I question about this video is why would I get something like this (a small battery cheap phone) when I could just use my main phone? From my understanding I can link a device to my main phone and my main phone would have way better battery life....

This is interesting however it is running on a 8 year old version of Android. So many security issues I wouldn’t want any of my personal information on it.

Don't do it unless you want to wait for them to build it !
take your money and say they will ship in 5 to 8 days !
Then 10 days later siend in a email that they're waiting for parts before they ship !

You forgot. Is it 4G VOLTE? 5G LTE? Carrier agnostic, capable of AT&T, Verizon, and TMob?
Tiny phone with ~5 year old Android version might make it worthless. And carriers often won't service oddball phones.
