For me this ending is the best ending of Re:zero, yet. There's something in the ending, the sentimental feeling that carried by the gentle yet melancholy song and the visual is a feast for the eye even with the minimalistic background yet that white and dark background for me is the visual way to convey the tragedy of Re:zero.

Anyone else felt something hit their chest after seeing that the first time?

It's really impressive how much you can feel just from watching subaru and emilia holding hands, no joke, the music and the slow movement of emilias hand griping subarus really give off a lot of feeling, hats off to white fox and the animators.

Years later, I still think Re:zero is one of the best animes out there the story is so interesting and gripping and even heartbreaking. Subaru is a fantastic protagonist all the way through you can really feel his struggles coming to terms with his reality his fears his flaws, his mental state all of it. Every character is so well designed and important in someways. I’m glad season three is here and I hope we do get a season four because for those of you who are just watching the anime and have not read the light novels oh my God it’s gonna get even better.

And that's why he is one of the few MC's in anime that I support unconditionally. It doesn't matter what decisions he makes I will always support this guy because that's the least he deserves after everything that he goes through.
