@HahUsmell it's something to do with only a very small percentage being able to survive the operations (there's more), if I recall correctly. The children are selected at a very young age to join the Spartan program and forcefully taken from their families and replaced with "flash clones" (which die after a year or so) for the greater good. I forget all the details though, but yeah they have some reason for it.

I still don't know why a halo movie hasn't come out yet. That trailer looked good enough to be a movie.

Usually I'm not down for live action trailers for video games this gen, nor am I usually down with Halo for that matter. However, this was some dope a** sh***!!!

@JimBean0587 He's a Spartan III though. He was just an orphan of a Covenant glassed world, not the cream of the genetic crop like the IIs. The IIs were selected because of their physical and mental genetic capacities. The IIIs got selected more like modern day special forces, through training.

i love how people are saying this is bad, i mean there not gonna go full budget on this thing. It just shows the fan boys that they do care and are throwing us a bone, i mean i would have liked something a little bigger like the odst one but this in all honesty its still really cool and if you read the books you know this is what really happened to the kids in the spartan program. Oh well i guess it is really true cant please them all (cant wait to here what people say when the movie comes out)

@jules3d6 Because whats being done to him on the slab, if you go by the books, is augmentation (How normal people become "spartans"((Spartan is just the name of the project btw))). the augmentation usually alters some characteristic- Master chief has a grey streak in his hair.

The SPARTAN-III Program was active as of 2531. Carter, Emile and Jun were from Alpha Company. Kat and Six were in Beta Company. Jorge is the only SPARTAN-II in Noble Team. You don't believe me, look it up on the Halo wiki.

@GoodEvenings well the suits are 1000 lbs. and if youve read anything about the spartan II program, the one master chief came from, they are quite more physicly capable than humans. in halo reach the game, all the spartans in noble team are spartan III's. smaller and weaker, but less expensive and faster to make than spartan II's. there is only one spartan II in noble team and he carries all the heavy weapons

@TweetReece Nope, they already said that "saying it was the last game they made in the Halo Universe... might be too big of a stretch, it's atleast the last in the foreseeable future." Btw, they said this during Halo 3's development, then they made ODST and began work on Reach.

@Jameseos They have a "stiff" stride and they stare straight because they have had military training since age six, and that is the side effect of discipline. The bone enhancements keep them from being killed by their own armor, and the muscle enhancements have the obvious need to make them stronger and to even the playing field against Elites. And any soldier going through that wouldn't have emotions, or would try not to, so that they don't go insane. And Reach was destroyed by the Covenant.

Spartan IIs and IIIs both receive the same augmentations. The only differences are where they are culled from and their usual armor systems. A Spartan III in MJOLNIR would be as capable as John-117 was, if luck is on their side. As mentioned, the only major difference is the genetic screening through which the candidates went through.

What the heck, man alive does that Halo Armor look totaly badass in real life!! and I think were getting a pretty good idea of just how great a HALO movie they can make if these trailers are any indication.
