GTA IV | How To Install ELS Police Vehicles (1.0.7.0)

If you are having issues with the lightbar not turning on, here’s what you MAY need to do! Before following the information below, please make sure that you have a “_SLOTCONTROL.ini” and a “default_config.ini” in your ELS folder (located in your GTA 4 directory). If you have those two, then proceed to read the POSSIBLE fixes below!

*Does your car files come with an ELS file?* By ELS file, I mean something with a “.ini” at the end. For instance, we’ll say that file is called “Example.ini”. If there’s a file just like that in the WinRAR archive, then here’s what you need to do with it. You need to go to your GTA 4 directory, go to the ELS folder, and drop that “.ini” file in there. After that, open a file with notepad called “_SLOTCONTROL.ini”. Once you’ve opened that, you’ll see a series of lines with model names and whatnot. What you’re going to do is you’re going to go to the model name of the police car you replaced, for instance “police2”. When you find police2, what you’re going to do is turn the “Status = On”, and rewrite the configuration underneath it from “default_config” to “Example” (or whatever your file is called, the one that you put inside the ELS folder). Once you’ve done that, make sure to SAVE the file (click on File at the top left of the notepad window, and click save).

*Does your car not come with an ELS file?* Well, now is your chance to make one. If your cars don’t come with an ELS file, then you need to do this method. Go to your GTA 4 directory and head into the ELS folder. What you should see is two files (for the most part) called “_SLOTCONTROL.ini” and “default_config.ini”. What you’re going to do is right click on “default_config.ini”, click copy, and then (on your keyboard) hold Control and click V. You’ll then get another file popping up called “default_config - Copy.ini”. What you need to do is then rename it to whatever you’d like (right click on that file, and click Rename). So, I’ll name mine “test.ini” for this instance (you don’t need to put ini if the rest of the other files don’t have an ini at the end... so we could just call it “test”). Now, configuring that file is a bit tedious... but if you’d like to configure it, I’m sure you’ll understand it. If you need to configure it, the only thing you’ll really need to touch is anything with “red”, “blue”, “white”, and “amber” under a section called [ENV_LIGHT_COLORS]. If you change any of those, it means that you’re changing the lighting environment, or the color (that reflects on the walls in the city) of the lights. Anyhow, when you’re finished with that, go to the “_SLOTCONTROL.ini”. When you’re in there, go to the model name of the police car that you’ve replaced. In my instance, I’ll go to police2 because that’s the car I’ve replaced in my game. Once you went down to the model name, underneath it will say “Status” and “File”. What you’re going to do is make “Status = On” underneath the model name, and rewrite the configuration file from “default_config” to “test” (or whatever you’ve named it). Then, make sure to save the text file!!!

hey man i used automatic installer for a police car with els but when i turn on the siren the lights doesen't work, i already try see the keys shortcuts in trainer but its disable the CTRL+J, its the problem of the trainer keys or my bad installacion? i have cracked gta and because of automatic installacion the els still works? btw the links are not online anymore thats why i didn't download same exact car. sry bad eng

Hello, bro i would be so damn thankful if you helped me with my issue so i downloaded this car mod it works fine and everything but the problem is the sirens don't work i mean look bro i press j it doesnt work i press it dont work i tried disabling thekeys in trainer still doesnt work the cars has .ini files in them if u could help me anyway that would be appreciated Btw bro i did i replaced 3 cars
