Tatort: Vienna (ORF) introduces us to Lieutenant Colonel Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer, Murder by the Lake) and Major Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser, Donna Leon’s Brunetti Mysteries) – one of the longest-running and most popular investigative teams in the 53-year (and counting) history of the Tatort franchise. Before teaming up, both detectives spent the better part of their careers working alone: the gruff, iconoclastic Eisner as a solo investigator with the Vienna Crime Squad, and the more sensitive and empathetic Fellner in the Vice Squad. Now they both work as specialists for the Austrian Interior Ministry, allowing them to investigate crimes in Vienna and beyond. Their initial meeting as partners, however, is not exactly smooth sailing…
