Because you will be super tanky with this Build, it’s not a bad idea to put the Sneaky Perk on your Companions so that they are attacked less often, helping to keep them alive. Also, consider spending some Perks to enhance them when you reach Tier 2, since you won’t really have anything else to spend them on anyway.

You can play a melee Stealth character if you switch Block for Sneak, and Heavy Armor for Light Armor, but if you do you’ll want to make sure you use a 2-Handed Weapon for maximum one hit damage. Additionally, it can be very difficult to Sneak up on enemies later on in the game when they are in large groups, so if you made a stealthy melee character and you find you are having issues, try swapping your Armor for Heavy Armor and respecing Sneak to Block and seeing how it goes. I found it more effective overall.

If you manage to max out Science and Block I strongly suggest placing all further skill points into Leadership to make your companions even more effective. You’re the tank of the group, so you want them to be able to help take things down while fire is directed at you.

Lastly, there are some great Unique Melee Weapons out there, so keep an eye out for them. I like using the Ionized Paper Knife mid game, but there are other good ones as well. Use the Wiki to find their locations and get them as soon as you can.

When I played my melee character, dodge ended up being the most important and primary skill (hard mode) to spec around. Anything for mobility and speed. You'll end up engaging and disengaging and circling around enemies like crazy. It's also fun as you can parkour all over the place. You're rushing around the battlefield, not a scratch, while enemies fall around you. A blast.

So far dodge seems pretty useful, closes distance, avoids attacks and counter attacks, and later gives you attack buffs

If your running with companions I recommend you go w/dex instead of temperament.

I rather invest into Dex for the extra melee speed instead of Temp. As long as you invest in Medical for extra healing from inhalers Temp is only useful early game but kinda useless late game.

I have a tip for you that might be useful.
Sprinting cancels reload so if you do that at the moment your ammo counter goes up you can increase your DPS with any ranged weapon.
Sprinting ALSO cancels the animation for weapon swings and blocking... so you can imagine what happens when you press LMB and immediately after that you sprint.
If you find a good timing for it you can swing much faster than you would be able to normally, or you can do it at the end of your light combo to restart the combo immediately.
P.S. Might not work for melee without upgrading Dex at the beginning.

GET THE CANDY CANE if you go to the other side of the gate in Cascadia, that weapon has n ray damage, which will help a lot against everything except probs robots, so consider that and the paper knife

i was thinking build that is both handgun + melee but this seems impossible sins hand gun uses bonus to head shots but u cant take int, really blows

Science op as hell easy to make gear op and you just use prismatic hammer grab all science perks it's op as hell don't even need to do strength or go down melee stats u will b doing like 12k heavy aoe attacks at 30 one shotting all sneaks are like 25-30k
