Who cares what other teams are interested in a player? You can buy a hyped player, pay a lot of money, and he can get injured and give you 10 games a season. Or you can buy a low-key player, and even if he's not a world beater, he can be consistent and give you a 7/10 performance 40 games a season. I'd call that a great signing.
James Milner and Wataru Endo and even Joel Matip are such players from Liverpool that have given amazing service to the club. I'd want that type of player if I was a Man U fan.
