Today we received and unwrapped an original 1995 Seagate IDE hard drive. The capacity is 1.6 GB and it comes with EZ Drive installation software already on the drive ready to be copied to a diskette before formatting. #seagate #medalist

I have a few ibm 16GB drives still brand new from a job I did in 1999.

Nice find, Love old hard drives. I never liked those utils. What I found to do with 95/98 installs, was I had a DOS 6.22 disk with CD-ROM drivers. I would boot it up, and get the HD formatted with just the basic system files (Format C: /s /u). Then make a c:\windows\cab folder and copy the entire CD into the cab folder. Reboot and remove floppy, and run the install off the hard drive. You end up with an extremely clean install that will never bother you to put the disk in when you make control panel changes. Also drastically cut down install time.

Personally I have always had a great luck with HDDs, never had one die on me/develop bad sectors.
