I'm glad Estonia started this trend. I wish there was a global agreement for certain people who work remote like me to be global citizens; basically you could pay 25% income tax and all of the partner nations would split it, then you could live in any of them. For as appealing as Estonia is I wouldn't move there because of the lousy cold weather :)

I think one of my friends has an e-Residency through Estonia. I recall a few years ago that he set something up in Estonia to where he could register his photography business there although he was fully remote. I think that this is a great idea for anyone whom is fully remote with no set location for the business. Great video!

I am wondering what really is the benefit of having a company in a country if you can't open a bank account in the company you are "based"?

I actually recently moved to Estonia as a resident from Canada and FYI banking is very strict and challenging for both personal accounts and Estonian corporate accounts. You have to prove source of funds and also if you are a resident show your salary etc. It is not as easy as even a few years ago. You need to go organized with all personal data and if it is corporate business plans, contracts, etc Video was great Kristin!

E-residency is a great title for living in Estonia. In Latvia and Lithuania they would be L-residencies.

Being an EU citizen who wishes to travel around the world while operating a company in Estonia, is an advantage because its easier to open a bank account for e-residency. You would have to register in Estonia first, as an EU citizen that would not be a problem. The banks there would then be more willing to open a bank account for you, seeing as you would be living in Estonia. But, you may still have to pay taxes in any other EU country, if you plan on traveling only in the EU. For example: if i live in Germany and operate my company in Estonia using the card, im gonna pay taxes in Germany too! I would have to travel around the EU from country to Country and make sure i stay no-longer than 3 months each time, so as to avoid being seen as living there. Its tricky. As for American E-residents: dont you still have to pay taxes back to US as an American citizen even if you travel and operate a company in Estonia, due to American citizenship based taxation laws?

So Estonia e-residency is directed chiefly at people from outside the E.U. ? I am European (some guys have all the luck, I know...), I have Portuguese, Italian and Greek taxpayer numbers and Greek address and bank account. Can Estonia e-residency get me any advantage or benefit I'm unaware of ? Could you please tell me ? Thanks in advance.
