Christmas Registry?

You know what I did for Christmas this year?? Nada. Nothing..not a damn thing. It is ridiculous and filthy. A registry? Um, no. Tacky and disgusting. Cathy's friend needs an intervention and therapy....oh, and coal.

Haven't brought Xmas gifts in years. Not going into debt. Mostt Americans have way more stuff than we need and have room to store, look at all the storage units.

Years ago, (after I got sick and had to stop working) I could see the future stress and disagreements were we to continue all the gifting we were doing on my husband's teachers salary. So I wrote all those we exchange gifts with a letter that basically said "because we can no longer afford to exchange Christmas gifts, we would like you to abstain from gifting us. We love you and all we really need is your love and friendship, and hopefully to spend more time with you during the year". We still do birthday gifting with our closest pals and as families have grown and have added husbands, wives and grandchildren, my husband finally gets it. With property taxes at Christmas, there would be no way we could sustain the gifting through generations of friends and family. We all need love and friendship, we don't need more things/stuff.

Well, think of it this way you cut down on returning gifts, double gifts, or things you dont want, and just ask for gift card for what's left

I 100% made an Amazon Christmas wishlist for my baby so I could just give links to people who asked what she wanted lol sry y’all I was being lazy

My family does something similar but it’s to give ideas for secret Santa with a limit of $50. 😅😅😅
