Which do you prefer? Honestly after making this video I realized how sharp and awesome the 50mm is, BUT, I still prefer the 35mm. Two awesome lenses!

Thank you for actually showing examples of what the pictures look like vs talk for an hour and never actually show side by side comparisons. This video is exactly what I was looking for.

Almost two years later and this info is still very useful!
For engagement reference, I basically just came to this video to see the visual comparison of the photos. It's great that you did an indoor/close up shot and an outdoor/portrait shot. I'm looking at these for food photography and videography.

I've used the 35mm for about a year. Takes fantastic photos. I believe that the 35 is more flexible unless you want the 50mm for portrait shots only.

I just double check, it does come with a hood. The hood does not the use 49mm thread. Hood is a alc-sh116.

But if I'm right (correct me if I'm wrong) that 50mm lens on crop sensor camera (a6000) is like 75mm on full frame? So you need around 32mm on crop if you want same results as 50mm on full?

My 50mm came with a hood, which is about twice as deep as the screw on one you had. I’m sure I read somewhere years ago that often hood shapes/sizes are specific to the lens due the way light might be reflected, so the other style may not work on the 50mm.

2:38 It does come with a lens hood which is about 60% the size of the lens. I wear mine upside down on the lens and it protects it from scratches.

Thanks for the video! I will be saving up for 35mm. You really helped me to decide which is the best option for me.

at 8:31 the 50mm looks sharper where they at the same aperture, did you notice that ?

My only question is if the photos at same settings are the samw bright or if 35mm is brighter. (Both at F1.8)

I am just watching the video so I dom't know yet if it gets covered.

I hope you can help me out with this question. I’m just getting into photography and I’m debating whether to buy the Sony A6000, Nikon d5600 or the Canon T7. What do you recommend for a beginner? I want to use it for YouTube videos and taking pictures of my daughters dance recitals. Please help, thank you.
