Hey, your focus on barefoot and zero drop shoes has made an enormous positive difference in my fasciitis pain. Thanks for your positive outlook, too.

In retirement, I’ve adopted the “zero drop, wide toe box” philosophy. I’m approaching three years into a complete transition to ZD shoes. The “five finger” approach I’ve adopted for backpacking, in socks only….I really like Injini socks. Shoes? Not so much….but, watching your light-hearted video, is making me rethink that! Bravo-Zulu, amigo…great video….well done!

I received them just 3 days ago and I fell in love instantly. Most fun shoes I’ve purchased. I have other barefoot shoes as well, amongst them vivo magna forest… no comparison 😍
Your video helped me a lot to make my decision.

I've hiked more than 400 miles in my V-Treks over the last year. Cannot recommend them enough!

I was forced to go on a 6 mile hike in my VFF when I forgot my boots. It was over all types of terrain: dirt, concrete, sand, rocks, forest litter. My felt amazing afterwards; not tired at all. It took some getting use to, just becoming aware of your foot feetplacement

Yes to the toe arguments. I started my minimalist shoe journey with VFFs in 2006, and after trying various brands and styles, I recently completely came back to FiveFingers. The plus in freedom and feel is just so fun and rewarding.

Personally, I try to avoid laces, and always looking for the most minimal offerings. Therefore my favorite pairs of all time are EL-X for sports, and CVT LB for everything else. Successfully ignoring that winter is coming. I seriously wish Vibram would release a true winter FF, withstanding cold, snow and water.

Great and charming video! Cheers!

Just got back from my first ever toe shoe trail run in these bad boys! It was great! Thank you Andrew for exposing me to different options.

I really appreciate those little bite paper pieces with "Fit"/"Part four..." It's a great idea.
And about barefoot shoes, I made six pairs of my own boots, so I know how great they can be.
Keep going and let those tiny papers in your videos.

Very true about Vibram FiveFingers. I used both vivobarefoot and five fingers and after years of trying both brands I tend to gravitate more towards the Vibram five fingers. I always had the best walking/running experience.

Thanks for this review. Your review is one of the reasons I ended up trying the V Trek and now they are my go-to shoe. The only time I don’t wear them is when I need a safety toe or a dress shoe.

To address the water absorption: I found that a layer of beeswax based leather protectant can help it be more water resistant. Still not waterproof by any means, but it’ll help with a brief splash. Just don’t go too heavy or it ruins the breathability of the mesh.

weird comment maybe but I super love your production style!! the review is great but tbh I really like how you do the tilting and how your storytelling is quite laid back!!!

I think I'm sold and I haven't even finished watching. Thank you. Been increasingly aware of the need for even greater toe freedom since I first went to barefoot shoes. Even my wide Softstar Sawyers, probably the widest shoes in the world, could do with at least a couple more millimetres.

I bought my Vibram Spyridon shoes nearly 7 years ago, I went on countless hikes, done a lot of parkour and abused the crap out of it in paintball. Only some of the stitching on the side came loose... and that's it! These shoes are unbelievably durable, flexible and gives you an incredible edge in agility. The soles.... man, I don't know what they are made out of, but mine hasn't the slightest of degradation.

I too have the same shoe, it's a great shoe and I agree with everything you said here. Although mine seems to have some kind of extra cushioning for the arch. The bottom reads "arch protection" or something to that effect, it's just a bit thicker at that point and it can prevent a badly placed rock or root from doing damage.

The video reminded me of the "slush problem", I wish it weren't a thing. The feeling of the shoes sucking in cold water is so annoying I chose to get another model and now I use both depending on the day and weather.

I completely agree. Ever since I bought a second hand pair of Vibram Trek Ascents, I can't hike or trail run in anything ever since.

Bodyworker here with a PSA. Please remember to use a transition period when switching to a barefoot shoe. You wouldn't start a new gym routine of multiple 100 lb. dead lifts on day one. Don't expect your underdeveloped foot muscles to support more weight than that 24/7, without working up to it over a few weeks or more 👍. Have a good journey.

You get a comment and a like for how short and concise your video was, you could get the same amount of info from a lot of ten minute videos. Keep it up👍

I purchased my first pair of vibram five fingers a couple of weeks ago and I was also sceptical about the fact of being just a marketing stuff
I use them for casual wear and in the gym for overhead presses, deadlift and squats where I usually weared weightlifting shoes
I was quite surprised the feeling I had in the next morning the sored feet & ankles I still have to get use to touch the ground with a flatter feet and not directly with the hell but daaaammmn there are feeling good on the feet... Once you have to put another classic pair of choose after them you feel how tight your foot is squeezed in "traditional" shoes
