his bear market is a prime example of why we should have a strong foundation built & cash position in our investment portfolios. Allows you to handle the volatility more comfortably, giving you a peace of mind & take advantage of high-quality companies at a discounted price.

GDP was negative in the first quarter. Even an optimistic person would still see a recession as likely. Unemployment won’t stay at 3.5% forever.

Despite the fact that I have a relatively concentrated portfolio, occasionally it makes sense to add a tiny additional investment. Diversification is not its purpose. A useful diversion from obsessively overanalyzing what you currently have is to concentrate on something new. It gives you and your portfolio some room to breathe.

He also said a recession might happen and that Ukraine is not significantly impacting inflation, in another part of his testimony.

I read about a man in his 50s that started investing in stocks and real estate, then retired in 2years with over $6million, that right there is my utmost goal and I'd really appreciate clues and tips on how to reach this goal within 5years

What other answer is he supposed to give? If he says there could be a recession, it will probably create a recession right then and there.

guys... in the entire history of the fed, they have only managed one soft landing (in '94) amidst high inflationary environments (above 5%).

let that sink in

Let me translate for the uninitiated [in how the Fed and government work]: "There is going to be the mother of all recessions, it is coming, and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it."

@0:37 - "The Consumer Is Strong" is the next "Transitory" - My dude, no one is "strong" when they are paying a minimum of 2X for their utilites, fuel, food, and shelter. They don't have an option.

Do you think Jerome Powell would admit that he thinks we're going into a recession?

He said no one has been able to forecast a recession regularly. Pshhh. Seems like Michael Burry is always on point.
