The team were singing a chant containing racist and homophobic lyrics aimed at the French National Team. The French Football Federation has announced plans to file a legal complaint over the incident and Chelsea issued a statement condemning the incident after several French Chelsea players made public comments criticizing the scene. Fernández issued an apology also on social media that said in part, "Those words do not reflect my beliefs or my character. I stand against discrimination in all forms and apologize for getting caught up in the euphoria of our Copa America celebrations." The group discuss the ramifications and ugliness of it all.

There is no racist about that. I am African and it's true. Who is defining racism. They say Africa not black

There wouldn't be mass migration to Europe from African nations if not for the corruption, illegal arms dealing, and destabilization of African nations that France and other European countries committed.

The French will complain about immigration non stop but are happy to reap the benefits of the talented football players who come to their country due to colonization.

The conversation is much deeper, France really discriminates against Afro-descendants, but uses them for their benefit in sporting events. That's what the song is about, which we can discuss is very crude. Discrimination, the United States has it against Mexico, against the countries of the Middle East, this is simply a song in bad taste, it wasn't the Argentines who dropped bombs to find weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East or 2 atomic bombs in Japan.

As a black what's wrong discriminating those who are trying to deny their true colours, if all black Africans stop representing France France wouldn't have any world cup trophy period

But i don't find it racist to be honest, it could be in some sense xenophobic but no because that's assuming that people from Angola have less value or are worst than French people and the chant don't say that, just point out the fact of the inmigration that is true. Its crazy how everything is racist nowdays.

Is saying that someone is from Angola being racist? If the song said that "they are all from Japan" no one would talk about racism. They talk about racism only when it is about ONE race.

Yeah, I don't think the Argentine team, or Argentinans in general, really care what any of us say or think.

France has colonies, that it’s real, we are Argentinian and other countries joke about us too, we don’t care, we don’t going to change our folclore, soccer is just a sport, stfo.

Colombian tv was kind of complaining about the origins of the French team at the time France won the world cup in 2018, everybody outside the politically correct First World was talking about it and it wasn't derogatory towards the players. Same with this chant. Spanish speaking people and Latin Americans can easily see this chant isn't about racism.

And the French players are also offended by the gold mines in Africa where CHILDREN work as if they were SLAVES?, that precisely the majority of these mines are from French corporations, and not just gold mines, any mineral or rare earth What can occur to them, but I suppose it doesn't matter that millions suffer under French COLONIALISM, but the French players don't see that, so they don't get offended?
