Wish we had this video when I was in the RN.... There was only one person in NATO that could tie a cap tally back then, good job they found him and got him to do this video!

As a R.A.N sailor, thank you for this informative video got me out of a tight spot. Its awesome that I can watch a R.N instructional video and have it pertain to my Class II cap tens of thousands of km away. Fair Winds and Following Seas R.N!

I used to tie cap tallies for my oppo's for free apart from the silver sixpence or centre button of a rembemberence poppy, that was placed in the centre of the bow, Always produced a tiddly bow for us all 🙂

That’s different to how it use to be tied. It use to be with the bow being at 10 and 2 o’clock with the tails at 7 and 4 o’clock. It was called a tiddly bow. The bow used here is the same as the tapes that secure the silk and called a reef bow.

I have one for HMS EAGLE but I did not know it was called a "tally" - so many differences between USA English and UK English :)

Why in training have guys got to do the timed run in 11 minutes but the girls have to do it in 13 surely it should be the same
