October TBR | Building the Spookiest Book List for Halloween Reading!

Hi Friends! Happy October! It's the beginning of the month, which means a new TBR. I have so many books I want to read this month for spooky season. I hope you get some good ideas and recommendations. I tried to build a great mix of Horror and Thrillers along with some YA and Middle Grade reads for the whimsical, cozy feels too! Let me know if you've read any of these and your thoughts!

I read House of Hunger last month and I am still obsessing over it. Right now I'm reading this author's The Year of the Witching, which I'm really enjoying so far. Also, I highly recommend everything written by Tananarive Due. Her writing is incredible!

I read The Stranger Upstairs last month. It's not quite what I thought it was going to be. I have a lot of notes to sort through for my review 😅

"For Your Own Good" isn't really what you described, though I get why you'd get that idea from the summary. Just saying so you're not too disappointed.

You should read House of Hollow, A House with good bones and the middle grade trilogy about Aveline Jones by Phil Hicks. All these are perfect for spooky season. Also I've got on my TBR The Cloisters, Weyward, We Have Always Lived In The Castle, Florence and Giles, In The Company Of Witches, The Witches of Vardo, A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid just finance a few. You should check them out.
