What they should make a video about is why recruiters/hiring managers never reach out to candidates to let them know they didn't get the job. They always say you will hear back from us in x amount of time with our decision. Then four months later they send a rejection email, like as if you didn't get the hint lol.

It's kind of "sad" that anyone would have to do that and not then apparently it's a mistake. Why can't you simply hire and forge normal relationships?

Interviewer: Do you have any weaknesses?
Applicant: Yes, honesty.
Interviewer: I don't think honesty is a weakness.
Applicant: I don't give a fuck what you think..

It should be acceptable for people to directly ask about the salary range before even sending an application.

Employers:
*"We want a recent college graduate with a minimum 30 years experience with SQL, Python, and Java as well as a PCL clearance."*

So ask questions like u care but you really don't and then it is ok. During interview act like a kid who sees snow for a first time.

This is why the world is turning to crap, nothing is based on truth and passion, just superficial things. If you actually are good at what you do but you don't please the employer it's over. This video is the perfect example, it's telling you ''mistakes'' that you do which aren't mistakes at all, it's just a standard now that everyone follows because they're so full of themselves. If I should change the way I am just to please the boss than forget it.

Some companies will not follow up at all, and others take weeks. But of course the applicant has to respond in a timely manner. xD

most people are hired based on how "cool" they are to whoever the fuck is hiring. and not by their actual capacities to do the job.

The bottom line is most companies play games with people interviewing for jobs. Either people had a good interview or they didn't. Either the company got a feel for someone or they didn't. Seeing who begs more for a job is plain s***. Glad I don't have to put up with this crap anymore.

Are you kidding me? I almost cried laughing at the book recommendation part. Do you want me to ask the interviewers how are their kids, or something like how was your breakfast this morning? Smh

This is all a game... I've interviewed at 7 companies I was overqualified for, did all these things, and received no offers. The job market is a sad, shitty, lofty place to get on with your life. A bachelor's degree in Economics apparently means nothing anymore and the behavioral style interview is the dumbest new thing. A person is applying to work and get paid, not to fucking be psycho analysed.

Like, uh, yeah, um, actually the biggest thing that like young, uh, people do is like, uh.... yeah, so uh, yeah.

why the fuck is getting a job so damn difficult. like you gotta jump through fucking hoops to even be considered by doing a, b, and c. you should just be able to go, answer questions and be told whether you got the job or not.

I could have sworn she was going to say the biggest mistakes young people make are repeatedly saying "like" and "um" during the interview.

Following up kills me. I sent you my resume, and took time out of my day to show up and say "Aloha, I wan't this job." What more do you want? The follow up does come off as desperate, and you don't want to set that kind of tone before even stepping foot in the door. Not saying you shouldn't do it, because it most certainly helps your chances. But for me personally, it's not worth it.

so dont actually ask a question you are interested in like your potential salary, but do ask generic question that will tell you nothing and will make you look cheap.what makes a rockstar a rockstar in your company?because the are so maaany things that they can answer here without repeating phrases like "work hard", "go extra mile " and words like "gogeter", "teamplayer" and etc.
