Denon AVR's can't play 2 channel stereo music. Well, they can play it, but only in the loosest possible terms. When it came to 2-ch stereo playback, I actually preferred the sound of my then previous budget £400 Sony SDR dn1080 over my mid-price £2, 000 Denon 6500 AVR
However, unlike budget Sony, whenever the movie's sound dynamics changed, no more reaching for the remote control with the mid-priced Denon

Conclusion ;
Budget Sony for music.
Mid-price Denon for movies.
If one is trying to obtain the best of both, then personally, I would look elsewhere

They are not new releases and 2024 or later. That's what we're looking for people.
