It’s a topic that’s consistently ignored by the mainstream media, revealing a soft bigotry of low expectations. It’s well known and extensively documented that the Palestinian Authority is rife with corruption and cronyism, a regime that criminalizes dissent and is censorial, acting with autocratic rule.
These, in and of themselves, are serious impediments towards improving living conditions for everyday Palestinians and to necessary institution building in the territories, and yet, our journalists refuse to cover this major obstacle to Palestinian self-determination and to peace between Israelis and Palestinians. To discuss these issues, Khaled Abu Toameh was the keynote speaker for the Honest Reporting Canada Insider Briefing on April 25. An award-winning producer and TV journalist who covers Palestinian affairs for the Jerusalem Post, Khaled provided an expert, first-hand perspective of these stumbling blocks that deny a better future for Palestinians and Israelis alike. The show was moderated by HonestReporting Canada Chairman Jonas Prince. This is a ZOOM program that was sponsored by HonestReporting Canada and was sent to JBS electronically.

Amo Khaled is the best - he is such an amazing compelling journalist and he’s such a credit to Israel and Israeli society. The best example of how things should be.

Ironically I was also the sibling who always wanted to watch news and documentaries whilst my other siblings wanted to watch trash tv and cartoons 😂😂 I can relate to him big time on that front!
