The bad part is if they shut it down there would be rolling blackouts as there is not enough power to go around I was in the NAVY for 6 years on SUBS and was a NUCK on board I was a e-5 and was on 3 boats during which we never had any NUCK accident If they military can run all those subs with very low problems then why cant the plants keep running without problems . I worked a little while for a plant and it was ran great some plants play the game some do not.

We need more people like this Man to stand up for us, the people of America that care about tomorrow and not just profits for today.

What annoys me here is that none of them want to say how they voted. And they all try to bounce around the issue. They cant stand up to Sanders. He's got Balls of Steel...Love you Senator!!!

@Arwydd That is what I used to think. But, Vermont only gets about 10% of its electrical power from VT Yankee. Shutting it down won't have as big of an impact as Entergy says it will. Plus, when an old plant is closed, the spent fuel rods need a location to be stored, and everything that has been around or touched by the nuclear materiel has to be delt with as well. my final point on this is that these plants are economical to build.

I recommend simplifying the language: if it is too wordy, well, you know... still the best senator though!

@SubwayEd State's rights were fought for and lost in the Civil War. Any modern use of that term is imagined.

Most people in this country don't realize what a precarious position we are in with nuclear energy. All it would take for disaster is one really big earthquake or terrorist attack. And they still haven't come up with a practical solution for all that waste. Scary, very scary.

Yes Bernie, it is your job to get involved in that fight. And as a senator of Vermont for 16 years you have done nothing to improve the people of Vermont's energy sustainability nor have you improved the safety of Vermont Yankee. That is because you and Peter Shumlin are not representative of the people of Vermont. If Bernie had been a true representative of Vermont it would never have come to this.

Here's hoping Bernie runs. I wish he ran last time.
If America will "hear" him, then he'll win.
One debate with the Republican nominee & it'll pretty much be over. : ) LOL
