The GPU engine, called V-Ray GPU, is a separate engine from the standard V-Ray engine utilizing the CPU. In this video, we take a look at its own unique requirements and specifics and demonstrate how to approach some of the issues that may be encountered.

What about the secondary ray bias issue, i get black surfaces when 2 geos are close to each other and not intersecting?

I just wish GPU rendering was fully functional, there's still quite a bit that will only render in CPU mode, is it on the roadmap to have things like Blend textures, Caustics and everything else that's missing from GPU rendering...I don't know how to render out seperate passes for wetmaps for instance, CPU rendering on scenes that require wetmaps is just no feasible

Super useful! One issue VrayGPU has is the long time it takes for Forest Pack to compile and the second one - I'd be great if it didn't have to load the same textures between each frame in an animation, it can take longer than rendering! Can we hope these issues are being addressed?

And another tip for crashing renders. I've learnt that this might be caused by overclocking and undervolting too. So try to revert back both the GPU and CPU to factory settings.

I'd love to use the V-Ray GPU rendering engine as it's pretty fast with my RTX 3090 (faster in pure rendering than my 32-core Threadripper), but unfortunately it can be quite slow with IPR updates. Especially in larger scenes (mostly exteriors with scatters). In such situations I have to wait up to 20 seconds for a change to take effect in IPR. I assume work is being done in this direction?

Having to downgrade the version of Nvidia drivers is absurd, if most programs ask for the latest version
