Tesla reversing sound

Starting September 2019 all Tesla model 3s will have this noise maker. I think it sounds goofy as heck.

Yep, experienced this first hand eating a donut in a Dunkin parking lot. Minding my own business when it suddenly sounds like aliens about it abduct me.

I don’t see why people have a problem with this. The first time I heard it in real life I was enjoying it because it felt like it emphasizes the fact that it’s electric. This sounds like the future

Fun Fact: This is actually a safety feature that is implemented in a lot of electric and hybrid cars to let blind and/or inattentive pedestrians know there’s a car coming especially at low speeds (>10 mph) since there is not organic engine sound to provide ambient noise. I believe it is also a newly mandated thing by road safety departments… I could be wrong though.

So many electric automakers go way overboard with their driving/reversing sounds, but Tesla’s is just clean and simple, yet effective.

I hear this sound sometimes multiple times throughout the day in my neighborhood and always wondered what it was!! I thought it was some kind of alarm somewhere and always got annoyed. This solves the mystery.
