So many LGBTQI people have been deeply wounded by Christian parents. You may have heard lies about you, and lies about God. Well, this loving, affirming Mom has a few things she wants to tell you. Things your heart absolutely deserves to hear.

My “family” (the non-chosen ones who are related by blood) absolutely and positively do not accept me for “me“. I cannot even be my true self around them.

I have to withhold information (such as crushes or relationships or things of that nature) as much as I possibly can from them because if not, I will get ridiculed again and again and again and again and again! My heart has been broken so many times by three family members in particular.

Watching this made my cry. What a wonderfully positive message. Thank you. I am hiding so many things from my family because they are all very judgmental and evangelical. I have had a girlfriend for over a year but only a few people know. I wish I could share my story with others but unfortunately I only have a couple of family members I can talk to about it. Otherwise I talk to my friends about it and one of my mentors time to time. I came from a very hard background with very toxic family members. I was isolated from a young age until October of last year. I am 37, wondering where all the time went. So many wasted years trying to get away from my family. This is the first year I've lived on my own, an entire state away from everyone I know. I had to get out, I had to be free.I am finding happiness now, but sometimes the loneliness and lack of people I can trust takes its toll. Thanks again for the wonderful message. I wish I'd had a parent as loving as you.

I didn't realize that I was being turned away from god by the belief of other people. Even though I knew it was wrong, I still felt the shame. I thought it was just confusion, but now that I really think about it, shame is of the devil. He tells you to be ashamed of your own sex, and body because all he wants is havoc and misory. Thank you for showing me the peace again.

i love you Susan you are very supportive of all these people while my parents can't support me as a Bi person. i probably did something bad but i told a teacher that i was close to and he even supported me all the way, that's impressive. I don't know how high your company is but every LGBT child, teen, and parent of should know about this.
