Today, Paul takes a look at the Aegis 3 8th (or gen 8) from MSI, a small form factor PC that packs a heavyweight punch in the performance department. We look at the overall build quality of the rig, including the case, the hardware inside and of course the all important benchmarks.

I'm actually on the look for a pre-built pc and MSI are on the top on my list. I'm on the waiting though, checking the market out. I lean towards a Ryzen build though.

Nice video and good attention to detail. Pre-builds are difficult to review. It is a very competitive market. Companies have to put together a system that is both fast and to have that special look and appeal to gamers. However in order to attract the PC gamer MSI have done an awful job with case design, big lumps of angular plastic, aerial thingies ! sticking out the side, and the case has a strange forward angle look. The lighting is cheap and gamerish ! with no subtle planning, indeed you can see the big, bold leds through the front grill, etc etc !. And this is my point, about price, performance and looks, many pre-builds have to cut corners to remain competitively priced. You can see this from inside the case, it’s not black anodised chassis, it has that cheap tinny look, with star headed screws everywhere. I’m sorry but the list goes on !. Sure it’s powerful, and MSI have excellent software installed, but would you really want this style sitting on your desk next to your nice subtle professional monitor etc ?. I’m sorry but it is really awful and cheapy looking. And again this is my point, corners have been cut, to keep the price competitive. Other brands such as the Zotac, compact PC is similar with cheap plastic case, and tinny chassis inside. I realise that companies are reaching out to gamers and trying to do their best with these designs, but hmmm this does not look good !.

I get it its small but still its 1600$ my PC wasn't that much more and I have a 1080Ti/ I7 8700k among other things that are superior to this pre-build.

If only Micro STX became a new standard and AMD and Nvidia offered mobile graphics cards.

Wow it sounds like an awesome gaming pc, MSI should make the Aegis 3 9th gen have a : core i9 9900 non K, GTX 2080 TI, 32gb 3600mhz quad channel ram, and 2 250gb ssd plus a 3tb sshd, and a H370 PRO mobo mini ITX or a Ryzen 7 2700X binned to 4.7ghz, Crossfire vega 64, 32gb 4000mhz ram, 4 128gb ssd raid and a 4tb high performance 10000 RPM HDD with a ASUS ROG X370 for under 1500$, i would buy it
