walk a mile in my shoes
Before you judge this man
If you walk in my shoes
you might understand
People always try to tell me
Tell me what I oughta do
Some really want to help me
Lord I know it true
everybody got an opinion
better take some advice
don’t really make no difference
got to live my whole life
I’m a simple type person - oh yeah
don’t need much in this old life
I read my bible
try to live my life right
I don’t need nobody
tell me what I ought to do
if you really want to help me
then take a walk in my shoes
walk a mile in my shoes
then you know how I feel
walk a mile in my shoes
before you judge this man
if you walk in my shoes
you might understand
don’t no body wanna listen
every body knows a way
every body knows an answer
before the question is raised
Everybody think they know me
don’t even know my name
if you really wanna help me
you got to feel my pain
walk a mile in my shoes
walk a mile in my shoes
walk a mile in my shoes
before you judge this man
if you walk in my shoes
you might understand
walk a mile in my shoes
walk a mile in my shoes
walk a mile in my shoes
before you judge this man
if you walk in my shoes
oh Lord you might understand
take a little walk…………

Dealing with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, this song is dedicated to those who should listen only and not judge or give me advice, "Walk a mile in my shoes" speaks for me!

I was doing street music in bremen (germany), i put up backing tracks and talk with my guitar playing blues for hours, and this giant man comes up talking to me for some minutes. Black hat, black coat, black shoes i mean goddamn he looked cool, the most reserved and gentle man ive ever met. He gave me his business card and low and behold, it was him. I cant believe he talked to me and ill never forget him saying, you play good', i mean jesus christ hearing it from his mouth is the best compliment ive ever got. Ill definetly visit his next show. He lives near me, i thought the blues was dying, im only 22 and ill keep it alive with all of my soul

Maybe if more people listened to the Blues, we'd treat each other better.

Big Daddy Wilson ! I'm a french white man. I'm 5I years old. One of the first books I read was called Black Boy by Richard Right, when I was 13. When I accidentally discovered Walk a Miles in My Shoes, I was deeply moved, by the soulful voice that you express with such joy, sadness, and a great and powerfull groove. I listen to it night and day, with all my family. It makes me deeply happy. I had forgotten that the music could be so sublime. There is only the blues to cause that. Thank you Big Daddy to exist and give me those emotions buried in me. Long live you, my soul brother, with your voice so divine.

Smoking a cigar, listening to this music, drinking good whisky. I think I don't need anything more.

Ich habe ihn heute zufällig live gesehen. Ich bin hin und weg von seiner Stimme, seiner Musik und seinem Style. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Heute hast du einen Fan dazu gewonnen.

The blues tells stories so well.
You can feel in your heart the sadness

This song is so true. This is why I love the blues. It tells you straight what's happening: the good the bad the ugly. It's real news. It makes you just want to do better and be better.

The gentleman can sing. You can't argue with that. And the guitar accompaniment is extraordinary. Base and percussion right there. Great song, great job. Great performance.
