I guess the age old arguments from nationalistic Brits, Germans, and Americans about the “ best “ fighters in the world, all the could haves, should haves and what ifs are being put to rest at Reno...!!! Ultimately its the Mustang / Rolls Royce combo that nets the worlds fastest piston engined planes. As Fantastic as the Hawker Furies are and the Bearcat with its monster engine choices, the ability of the Merlin to generate 3800 hp and not explode, is the winning combo... you cant beat low frontal area ...!!! But lest we forget about the Allison V1710... her huge connecting rods enabled the Merlin to stop disintegrating at high race settings...!!!

That does look a bit like landing an F-104 StarFighter, with a tail wheel... LOL. Does that stall above or below 160 knots?
It does LOOK beautiful, but I don't know that I'd like to land or take off and be rolling along the ground in a tail dragger at over 150 mph... It's a very fast aeroplane, but so was Pond Racer....

I read some place that Voodoo is headed to the museum, and will no longer be racing. Any truth to that? Also, thanks for the video.
