Appendix C: Canonical manifolds of mappings

We recall the notion of canonical manifold of (smooth) mappings. Then we discuss the case of smooth mappings from a compact manifold with values in a locally convex space. We will see what properties of this example need to be abstracted to construct canonical manifolds of mappings.
